SULEKHA FRIENDSHIPS-1
I think I am a little, more sensitive than the normal. Small moves of those around will affect me positively or negatively. A friend or acquaintant not minding me on the first meeting or passing by on a day will disturb me to a far greater degree. Logically, I know that such situation is normal. Still my psychological reflexes are tuned that way. Though I would try to suppress my inner silly feelings, those near me will definitely detect it.
I don’t know how this angularity did not cause much trouble in childhood, boyhood or early youth,….. it did affect my later life. Mostly I crossed swords with my superiors officially, because I often felt that the
Silly matters, My father used to tell me, Just pretend that you are not aware of the slight, he would continue.
No! Appa!! No! Base of the mentality for big and small slights is the same. If I don’t retort now he will come with another one, that I am sure.. I will persist.
Do as your conscience says. Appa will conclude.
Why I say these here is to show that in social contacts I was not able to be normal because of this silly sensitiveness. My durable friends were mostly physically away, contacting by post. Especially after passing the half Shashtipoorthi [ half of sixty years, ie 30years] when I became a family man, every one around was an aquaintant who is useful to me or I am of some use to the other.
Though there was no one to fit into my idea of friendship, looking back I feel that still I was on a search of a friend like my Govindan who was my intimate friend of college days and Kuttan who was my boyhood friend. The quality of that friendship was that there was no need for any inhibition or making the other believe.
When I became an active member of Sulekha, last April, I was corresponding through Sulekha to some bloggers. It was rather matter of fact concerning the topic and the personal references were formal and shallow. By and by this commenting developed into some thing beyond formality, in some cases. Some became so intimate that I began to eagerly wait for their response. The topics we discussed centered round the matters referred in the respective blogs. Along with this main theme, something very personal also, found place.
Now, I think I have more than a dozen Sulekha friends and the number is increasing if not by day in weeks. I don’t want to generalize my friends. I want to tell my point about them one by one. I hope they won’t mind or object my giving their names here. I am giving their Sulekha names in the order they came into my horizon and made my life brighter.
Rronnyy, mkvn, rithu11, superficial, indu, Kalyani, Melody Queen, Prema Raja, purefriendhip, sohini saha, Kiren Det, Bharatborn, Sarangadhara Kartha, Tam//bram……….I don’t know what to say about my “familiarity” with ixedoc and Kesavji. We all are familiar with Super stars like Kamalahasan and Aiyswarya Rai and in a democratic country one has the liberty to include them in my friends list!
Actually I want to write about these friends immediately. But I wonder whether it would be in order. I have some valid reason to STOP,. LOOK, and PROCEED! See you tomorrow!!
Part 2
1.Rronnyy was the first one with whom I started communication. It was not over or above blogs. If I remember properly he made some reference to Keralam, Namboodiris, and so on that I began to imagine that he may be some whose father is known to me. I sought clarification through the comments. He said he was in Kerala as a part of an all
The people I know in the
From the blogs of rroyynn, I understood with happiness that though is in the
Some years back when I joined Sulekha first, I had observed that these vehement Indiathuva propagators get angry quick if some argument of theirs is contested, Their youthful vehemence will even come to calling names in two syllable words. Of course, then I did not provoke them not because I had any scare or scarce for bad words. But because I knew their predicament by which they are made to feel that they are aliens in their own
So, for one of Rronnyy’s fire spitting blogs I wrote a very sincerely differing point of view. I was expecting a tirade of blue hot words………..No it was not to be so. He wrote that his father who is of my [RK] generation is of the same opinion and that he can understand our point of view of anti-hate.
Later, when I collected courage to blog, he was the first to comment. He even made his better half to comment on a blog of mine. Writing inside and outside have blogs have become part of our routine. He being very busy with his official work, social commitments, some times posts blogs and comments in dozens in a day, making me go out of breath thinking about his speed.
He thought that he could come to my place of visit,
Before I conclude this attempt which may be taken by many as waste of time and energy, let me say sincerely that this like “KAAYAKALPA” Aayurvdic treatment for me.
This is technically a VERTUAL friendship. We don’t know the real name of the person. But that is part of the game. In rronnyy’s case the photograph is not only virtual but also dim.
But I can see rronnyy in my mind’s eye. A serious 5’8” er, not very fair, with, short undisciplined hair, looking round in hurry but without worry. His only real worry how to give this
May his tribe increase!
