The King Emperor, the Peoples' Representatives and the People were working in unison till just before the beginning of this Play. Now the Peoples' Representatives realize that the King Emperor has become a danger, a liability to the Nation. They unanimously ask the King Emperor to abdicate and give way to select a new King. The King as also the Queen are sure that the Representatives are totally wrong, though they are clueless to establish this truth. Though the King is ready to allow time to take its natural course, Queen feels that something has to be done positively to avert the impending wrong

Part 2

Queen
Let me see. Your Highness is the same person inside out. I know better than anybody. Your Highness and Your Subjects were in perfect agreement.

King
Not always, I have to admit! But then, as you know, we will discus the matter thread bare, inside the House of Representatives. Level headed elders may be called for to strike a compromise. On very few occasions we have found that even that was not possible. Then we will agree to disagree. Postpone the decision if it is not very urgent.........But now everything has changed. .....They are positively sure that from a few weeks that have passed, the King, Ourselves, is completely wrong and they are absolutely correct!

Queen
This is not usual. We know from the past. What is Your Highness thinking on this condition? How do You evaluate?

King
We are absolutely at a loss in understanding. We are perfectly in the dark!

Queen
Do Your Highness  suspect that some, very crooked among them, Reprentatives. are acting like this to do away with You?

King
Again We don't know what to say or think on this. We have never in the past come into something anywhere near this.

Queen
Then they must have undergone some uniform negative change!

King
What change? How? For whom?

Queen
That is what We are going to ask Our Intelligence Bureau  to find out!

King
Oh! No!! If this step comes to the public, it will deteriorate Our relation with the Representatives.

Queen
As it is, You have to admit that it cannot go down further..........See....The Representatives are sure. Of course some change has taken place. Your Highness, I know, has not changed basically......Our Representatives are, as before, in essence, good. So with out some external influence, things cannot change like this, I am sure.

King
What are you driving at?!

Queen
We must silently inquire and find out the agency that caused this change.
Your Majesty should kindly allow me to send on your order the Chief of our Intelligence Department and two able Assistants to study whether anything out of the way happened in the past 5 or 6 weeks in Our Kingdom. I am positively sure that they would come back with some very important information justifying my suspicions.

King
Go ahead! Dear. My faculties of thinking and acting seems to have left me. I am numb inside out!

Queen
Naturally! The shock of the present situation, I know, is so unbearable for You. You were, My Majesty, not only their King and Leader. Your Highness was a conscientious, caring Elder Brother to all the Subjects. All of them turning against You, has shattered You to pieces. I cannot find fault with You.
But for the rigorous training You had in Your early years of life, You would have really gone mad......Not as they say.....but because of them......I am sure We will tide over this situation because Your Highness is a brave man by birth and by training.

King
We wonder whether you are aware of what You are doing to me now. Till now You were simply a decoration of normalcy to my position. Now We find You as Our armor and weapon.
Where did You hide all these positive qualities of Your mind so long?! Now there is no doubt  that You are Our Best Half!
We are really sorry that we did not care much about Your intrinsic personality. Now the Rider has transformed Herself into an able Driver and Guard. We are at a loss for proper words of expression. How much we adore and admire You, Madame Queen!

Queen
I am glad of Your good words......But now We must be quick......Loose no time.
I think it is better that You go and meditate in Our prayer room. The Intelligence Officer need not see himself how You are. Please chant with full concentration, this sloka from the Bhagavat Geetha

Yo na hrushyathi na dweshti
na soochathi na kankshathi
subhasubha parithyagee
bhakthiman ya: sa mey priya:

specially among other ones.

King
Oh! Our Dear One! You are a gem! You are Our Light House in this dark stormy night of this Amavasi Day! You are to Us like Lord Krishna to Arjuna!

Queen
[Though very glad at the recognition]
Let me do something to deserve all these praises.
I shall call on Your Highness after, say, one hour..........Bless me all the best!

[Both exit by opposite doors]   .
